Muddy Boots Location & Directions
By car: Muddy Boots is in Balmalcolm village, on the A914 between Glenrothes and Cupar. We are easily accessible from all areas of Fife, and quick to get to from Dundee, Kinross and Edinburgh.
By bus: We are on the X59 and X24 bus routes. The bus stop in Balmalcolm is a 2 minute walk to the farm.
By train: Our closest train station is Ladybank, a 30 minute walk from the farm or 6 minutes by taxi.
Muddy Boots Facilities
Disabled Access: All buildings are accessible to those with impaired mobility. Many of our play areas are based on a hill, but should be suitable for many wheelchairs and also buggies. The covered play barn offers great viewing of many of the play areas.
Award Winning Toilets: If you’ve got to spend a penny, it had better be an award winning loo – at least, we thought so. So we have designed the very best café toilets in Scotland for your visit, as awarded by The Loo of the Year awards 2012. Our toilet facilities include a large dual sided disabled access toilet, baby changing and a separate children’s toilet. The children’s toilet is such an attraction they sometimes don’t even want to leave! We hope you enjoy the facilities, it’s worth the wait.
Picnic Facilities: We want you to have a fab family day out – and a picnic is fun. We have picnic tables available in all the play areas, and a covered space in the entrance of our soft play barn with tables for picnics. We’re afraid we don’t have any heated or indoor space for picnics, and don’t allow picnics in our café. We do sell takeaway hot and chilled drinks, crisps, cheeses, pates, bread and ice-cream in the farm shop, to supplement any picnic.
Local Weather: We are nestled in the Howe of Fife and are often very fortunate with the weather at Muddy Boots because we are sheltered by the Lomond Hills. Check the weather here before planning your day – or give us a call and find out what’s happening now.
Dogs: Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed in the outdoor areas. We ask that you respect other park users and clean up. We reserve the right to ask you to remove your dog if it is upsetting other customers. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
We have two farm dogs that may be around; they are called Berry and Bramble.
